The Long Island Herald Community Newspapers organization is looking for interns to work with the Herald editorial staff on briefs, articles and other reporting projects. Interns can also work with Herald editors and reporters when they cover news conferences and meetings. Interns will get the experience of working in a newsroom and
doing the work of a journalist.
Internships could take place during the school year or over the summer months. Typically, interns work in the Herald office three days a week. Currently, however, the newsroom works remotely two days a week.
The Herald office is in Garden City, not too far from Hofstra University. Their primary coverage area is the South Shore of Nassau County from the Queens/Nassau border to Seaford. The Herald also has several papers on the North Shore of Nassau County — Oyster Bay, Glen Cove and Sea Cliff/Gen Head.
If interested, please contact Jeffrey Bessen Deputy Editor, Herald Community Newspapers at jbessen@liherald.com.
