DN Report: New NAACP Chapter

The Report:

A new NAACP Chapter is being developed at Farmingdale State College! The NAACP, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, is an organization that works to “ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights and to eliminate race-based discrimination”. Farmingdale State College already offers many organizations and clubs that students can join, and this chapter would be exclusive to members of the African-American community. The mind behind this great idea is an empowered student, Darrien Hunt, who had a dream to create a chapter that would help the members of his community succeed throughout their time in college and beyond. The chapter will not officially start until the Spring 2020 semester and to begin the process he needs at least 25 students to sign up as members of the group. This is the start of a new adventure that will bring a lot of success and progress to Farmingdale State College as well as making history overall.

Farmingdale State College has a lot of clubs and organizations that are dedicated to specific groups and causes. Each of those organizations have values that its members take pride in honoring every time they step out into the FSC community. But now it is time for a new organization to emerge and make history that can have a positive impact on Farmingdale State College for years to come. A motivated and inspiring student, @akadazz, has decided to work on starting a NAACP College Chapter to help benefit his community and we are proud to partner with him to make his dream come true. This chapter will not officially start until the Spring 2020 Semester, but from now until the end of September we need at least 25 members to join the group.
