    About the Health Wellness and Nutrition Club

    When you think of what it means to be healthy, where does your mind automatically take you? Are you taking a casual stroll in your neighborhood on a wonderful day to get your steps in? Do you think of preparing a satisfying meal with lots of protein and fresh garden vegetables? Or are you simply enjoying the company of those you love the most while laughing so hard your stomach hurts?

    However you answered that question, health is seen in many different forms that are all interconnected to one another. The mission of the Health Wellness and Nutrition Club is to promote all areas of health including the mental, emotional, and physical sides that are crucial for living a well-balanced lifestyle. Our club provides a safe space for all students regardless of their majors to develop new hobbies and interests that they can partake in that will enhance their overall health and well-being!

    Why We Want YOU to be a Part of Our Club!

    1. You can get to know a bunch of fun-loving, yet reliable group of students who want to better the health of all individuals at Farmingdale State College.
    2. You can apply for a leadership position and learn the skills to build your resume NOW!!
    3. You can come share your ideas with us and unwind while eating some nutritious, yet delicious healthy treats!
    4. If you love to run or want to get into the sport, take Dr. Hanson’s Running101 (starting on March 19th in Nold100 at 10:50) course which will provide you with all the valuable tips and tricks on becoming a stronger runner!
    5. You can be a part of the decision-making process on fun health events you want to see! (Yoga, weight-lifting competitions, planting, etc..)
    6. You can get outside during the warmer months by hiking along the school’s trails!
    7. You can enjoy food demos on how to cook and prepare healthy meals!
    8. You can participate in writing a weekly article on any health topic of your choice and have your name published in the school paper.
    9. You can learn cool tips and tricks on how to make healthier food choices throughout March – National Nutrition Month
