October 23, 2021 – Isaiah Hilman-Smalls
What’s Going On?
Today at 12pm in the Nold Hall Athletic Complex, there will be a women’s volleyball game between Farmingdale State Rams and Ramapo!
This is what the FSC Women’s Volleyball team had to say about today’s game:
“Family, friends, alumni, and other athletic teams here at FSC: we hope to see you all at today’s senior day and DezyStrong match. We are honoring our three seniors: Rachel, Emily, and Madisyn. As well as, fundraising for The DezyStrong Foundation. There will be merchandise sold, raffles, and baskets! The proceeds will help support those in their fight against cancer. Come out to support our seniors and The DezyStrong Foundation.”
This is some information about The DezyStrong Foundation. More details can be found on their website:
“The DezyStrong Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that was established by Matthew “Dezy” DiStefano, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer in February of 2019. In the midst of his own cancer battle, Dezy chose to spread the message of a “Strong Mind. Strong Body” mentality to help motivate and ultimately inspire others. The DezyStrong Foundation is proud to carry on Dezy’s legacy. Our mission is to provide the opportunity for individuals who are fighting cancer to have access to support that affects a positive mental-well being. You can help too. We encourage you to get involved to support this important initiative. Whether by making a monetary donation, attending an event, or by volunteering your time, you can help support those in their fight against cancer.” ~~ https://www.dezystrong.org/

I’m beyond grateful to not only have transferred into an amazing, growing program but to be surrounded by supportive and respectful people everyday.”

She is majoring in Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Technology, and after graduating from Farmingdale State College she plans on applying to graduate programs in either psychology, education, or engineering. This is what Emily had to say about her time as a member of the team:
“Being a part of the volleyball program here at FSC is really so much more than having a few coaches and a bunch of teammates. It’s being a part of a family that has your back and encourages you to be your best, on and off the court. I’m eternally grateful to have transferred into such an amazing program with great coaching staff, athletic training staff and teammates. I can’t wait to stay involved in the program as an alumni of FSC!”

“Being a part of the Farmingdale State Volleyball Program is so special. It is so much more than just being an athlete, and the family culture here creates an environment that brings out the best version of yourself on and off the court. The coaches and staff take care of their athletes on a personal level. I am beyond grateful for my coaches, teammates, and staff for their endless support. I can never thank these people enough for helping me be the person I am today.”
