Reaching out to someone’s heart in hopes of healing my own.
Believing that in someone’s world I could build a new home.
Lost in thought trying to say goodbye to an old life.
Understanding that solutions to my problems must go beyond the knife.
Stepped into the valley with plans to disappear.
Chants of love and support were words I could no longer hear.
Down on the ground, preparing to be buried.
Interesting how successful people never reveal the weights they carried.
A light shined through just as my eyes began to close.
Amazing how fate steps in when we think that nobody knows.
There you were, bringing grace and forgiveness back into my life again.
Learning to love myself is a lesson one can only learn from a true friend.
We stepped out of the valley and my peace was restored as I looked towards the river.
You came back into my life because you had a blessing to deliver.
I rediscovered her eyes and then there was one thing left to do.
Finally had the chance to hold her close and say, “I Admire You.”
Here’s a message from Isaiah Hilman-Smalls:
“In life, we may find ourselves in situations that we cannot escape from until we endure the full experience. Life teaches us lessons through many channels, and it is our responsibility to carry those lessons throughout our journey. We do not have to go through these experiences alone. It is easy to hide and stay away from the world, but we will never grow until we embrace the uncomfortable and take a chance. Keep everyone special in your life close and let them know that they are important and valued. If you have a chance to meet someone new, take the risk and watch life provide you with an amazing discovery!”
