Keep calm and yawn on!

Hello loyal readers! Instead of a quote, this week, I decided to post a thought that will make you think the next time you yawn.  Now it requires some imagination; do you think you can handle it?  Are you ready? Imagine this: You are in the library writing a paper, minding your own business, and all of sudden you start yawning.  You don’t understand why.  You slept a solid eight hours last night.  A couple of minutes after you yawn; you notice the person in the cubical a little ways down from y...

Visiting an Architectural Firm on Long Island

My group and I had an interesting visit to one of the prestigious architectural firms on Long Island. Our purpose was to investigate how their work spaces were organized. We had already designed our first project, so our visit to this firm certainly prepared us for our next integrative design. Moreover, we will present a work-living space; an architectural firm and a house. Our instructor has already invited prominent architects of Long Island to our presentation day. Very intimidating! Take a note, pick a notebook and save. Teacher writing too fast? Take a picture it will last longer. It will also remove the ambiguity of spell check and help with illegible notes. Be careful, too many pictures in Evernote fill up your free monthly limit of data transfer quickly. Microsoft has an App called OneN...

Awaiting a Fulbright scholarship to Argentina, beginning March 2014, I decided to search for an internship opportunity in communications for the fall semester. After hearing about the Washington Internship Institute (WII) by my professor, Dr....

The Semester Begins! There are things to do!

The Semester Begins! There are things to do! As the semester begins I look around and see activities planned.  Dorm students had a whole weekend to become acquainted to the dorm life and to meet new people.  The student activities center has announced a number of opening activities. Activities in themselves are a great way to meet new people. Introducing yourself to the person on the blanket next to you, at the outdoor movie, might be a great way to start a friendship. Teaching someone next to...
