Czech Republic

In Prague, Czech Republic! It’s so much colder here than back in London! When we arrived in Prague, we went straight to our hostel, by bus, to drop our bags off, then it was a short walk into Old Town. Old Town was really cool, with a lot of history and food stalls all around you. One of the coolest historical buildings is where Walt Disney got his inspiration for how Sleeping Beauty’s castle would look! There is the Astronomical clock tower that constantly had tourists standing there on the hour to hear the music ring. Its a beautiful tower and the clock is really interesting to look at.

In Czech, they eat a lot of sausage, fried cheese, fried dough, and this special cinnamon dough roll. Basically everything fried you could imagine, traditional goulash (stew) and lots of Czech beers were consumed. The beer is literally cheaper than water! A beer is less than a dollar, whereas a bottle of water is $1.50-$2.00! They roast whole pigs in the middle of the road like its nothing! They sell massive chunks of ham and freshly packed sausages with homemade warm bread, it was delicious! In Prague there was so much to see, including the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, a very long walking only bridge with tons of art and sculptures on it. Once you cross over the bridge you are in new town Prague. In that part of the town there is the John Lennon wall, a huge wall covered with thousands of signatures, sayings, prayers, whatever you want to put on it, I signed my name and my families name 🙂 It’s a really cool and colorful wall. A large part of Prague’s history is Jewish culture as well. There are many synagogue museums, and Jewish vendors to portrayed what life was like for the Czech Jews during the World Wars. Overall, Prague was amazing. It’s right on the water, where you see many boat tours and bridges all around you to get to the various parts of town. I loved just walking by the water with a warm fresh cup of hot chocolate! Prague is one of my top cities so far that I have been too. So much to see, history, and amazing food! Heading to Austria tomorrow by train!
