Feria Verde

Hey Dalers!

Hang in there, the semester is almost over!

I myself am trying to keep calm as my studies are continuing this semester. I just finished my third Spanish intensive class. It was a struggle because my professor was not as great as my past two, but I made it work and passed the very difficult intermediate 2 class! Next I am luckily taking an intermediate conversation class which will be very helpful, since so far I learned mostly grammar, now I will be able to practice my speaking.

This weekend I stayed in San Jose to save some money. Every Saturday, there is a Feria Verde (green market) with local and organic produce, plus food, clothes, and accessories. It was so nice to see so many fresh products. I saw bananas, broccoli, papaya, mango, and much more! Plus, fresh honey, organic chocolate, and local cheese. So good!

As we kept walking through the market, we were lead to a whole different section with live music, vendors of clothes and jewelry, and instruments of Central America being sold. The lunch that was sold also looked amazing, such as falafel. It was a great change of scenery to see this type of market with so many different people.

That night, we went to the movies to see the Hunger Games! It was nice to feel a little at home by being in a movie theater.

December 19th is my return flight; I am excited but sad to be leaving. My last semester at Farmingdale in the spring is going to be a good one!

Later,

Laura
