Hey all,
I’ve been so busy (in a good way) this semester so I finally have a chance to post about my amazing experience on campus. This semester, I joined an amazing club- Backstage Theatre Company. This club puts on performances for the students on campus as well as the public. We performed the musical romantic comedy “The Wedding Singer” this semester. It’s hilarious and is based off of Adam Sandler’s movie, “The Wedding Singer.” I thought it was the perfect first show for me to be a part of, it was fun, exciting, and from the era of the 80’s. I was a part of the ensemble, which entails singing and dancing, and also the Sideburns Lady- which I thought was perfect for me as I let my inner weirdness shine!
Being a part of a theater club really does take time, effort, and commitment to get prepared for the opening shows, but I am so happy and grateful for this opportunity that came my way because it was a life changing experience, where I became part of a family here at FSC. I grew as a person, and now that it is over, I’m quite sad (as is everyone else)!
I highly recommend anyone to join this club. It is a great opportunity that is rewarding; hearing amazing feedback about each performance is an awesome feeling. Take advantage of this club on campus, it is life changing, rewarding, and exciting. I will always remember this experience at Farmingdale, and I can’t wait for next semester to be a part of the next production!
Bye for now,
Laura M.
