My First October Weekend

Hey there, welcome back!

So how’s my favorite reader today? Hope your weekend was enjoyable (minus the rainy Saturday). My weekend was just as busy as ever, Saturday was my dad’s birthday so that in itselfbirthday cake was busy but tons of fun. My dad is a huge Yankees and Giants fan so my mom, my sister and I all got him something sports related. My sister bought a Yankees coffee cup with the number 2 and a picture of Jeter on it. She gave it to him early in the morning so he could have his coffee in it. I bought him a long sleeved under-armor shirt with Giants logos on it and my mom bought him a collection of various newspapers that headlined every major moment of Derek Jeter’s career on the Yankees baseball team (being that Jeter just retired this year, so this will be a collector item). I also made chicken tacos for dinner and we got him a chocolate cake with butter-cream icing. So even though the day was a washout, my family had a sunny day in my book.

babygirlThen my Sunday was another busy day because Sunday’s are my volunteer days at the Long Island Feline Adoption Center in Smithtown. On Friday October 3rd, we had closed for the entire day because we were moving our location a couple doors down so today was my first time in the new location, it was definitely an experience to remember. Walking in, I had no idea where anything was so it was an adventure to find all the supplies that I needed. I also came to find that all of my kitty friends were still nervous from the big move! So they were all surrounding me looking for comfort (awww, my poor babies). They eventually started to calm down and went back to doing their own thing, although they were still on edge when possible adopters walked in. In all the midst of this, I had to sit down to get my homework done that is due this week. I tend to get as much as possible done on the weekends so I’m not up so late during the week.

Well my dear reader, I must once again bid you adieu until next time.

Your friendly neighborhood Rambassador,

Kaitlyn M.
