Social Justice/Diversity Summit Rescheduled for April 2019

The Social Science Research Institute’s 2018 Social Justice/Diversity Summit, “Continuing Difficult Dialogues,” scheduled for 11/16, has been postponed until 4/9, 2019.

The reason for the cancellation, said Dr. Miriam Deitsch, director of the Social Science Research Institute: “The current divisive climate in our country has strengthened the resolve of the Social Science Research Institute at Farmingdale State College to develop increasing opportunities to work with our community partners and academics from across the nation. Our shared goal is the creation of education and discussion that encourages increased activism in these difficult times.

“As stated by one member of our non-profit network, ‘Every day is a new crisis.’ Therefore, because of these continuous crises, our dedicated community partners have informed us that as a result of this climate, their availability to fully engage with our students and academic community has been compromised for the current semester.”
