Nursing and Dental Hygiene Reaching out to the Homeless

Tuesday, 4/10, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.     Roosevelt Hall

The Coalition for the Homeless is sponsoring “Address the Homeless,” a candlelight vigil and collection of essential goods for Long Island’s homeless and at-risk populations.

Attendees are asked to donate winter coats, new/unused baby items, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies and toiletries.

The Departments of Nursing and Dental Hygiene will participate, with dental hygiene students providing dental health education, oral screenings and gift bags containing toothpaste and other hygiene supplies. Nursing students will offer blood pressure screenings and overall health education.

Also offered will be free financial literacy sessions,  haircuts, face painting, story time and other services.
