Native Plant Symposium: “Flora for Fauna”

Friday, 11/17, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.     Roosevelt Hall

“Flora for Fauna” is the theme of the 4th Annual Native Plant Symposium. It will feature educational exhibits and lectures by seven guest speakers, including adjunct professor Rusty Schmidt. The presentations include:

  • Flora for Faunahummingbird
  • What Native Cultivars are, and Their Impact on Native Flora and Fauna
  • Enhancing Highways: Lessons from the Roadside
  • Tough Plants for Tough Places: Improving Biodiversity in the Built Landscape
  • Audubon’s Plants for Birds: Plant It and They Will Come
  • Invertebrate Dynamics and Pollinator Presence in Urban Plantings
  • When does Grassland Restoration do More Harm than Good?
