Former Dean of School of Engineering Technology Passes Away

Dr. Arthur A. Ezra, former Dean of the School Engineering Technology, passed away in April at age 94 on April 26, 2020.
Dr. Ezra also taught Mechanical Engineering Technology and worked as a civil and mechanical engineer across a broad variety of industries, including aerospace, science research, teaching, government, academia, and consulting.
Dr. Ezra grew up in India as part of a Jewish community, before coming to the U.S. in his twenties. He received a BS in Civil Engineering from University of Calcutta, MSE from University of Michigan, and PhD in Engineering Mechanics from Stanford University .
He published a book, Principles and Practices of Explosive Metalworking, and held several patents including one – Surface Vehicle for Traversing Extremely Rugged Terrain – designed for exploring surfaces like that of the moon.
Dr. Ezra loved solving problems, teaching, inventing, reading, playing tennis, and discussing current events with family and friends around the world.
