Urban Horticulture and Design Professor Writing for Newspaper

Dr. Nick Menchyk

Dr. Nick Menchyk, assistant professor in Urban Horticulture and Design, is now a freelance writer too.

He is writing articles for New York Landscape Contractor, about about turfgrass/lawn management issues. So far this year he has written about spring maintenance/weed control; proper irrigation practices; fertilization best management practices; and soil testing.

“As an educator, it’s a pleasure to reach beyond the classroom to the professionals in the robust horticulture industry in New York,” says Dr. Menchyk, “to share best management practices that improve plant health and enhance the urban ecosystem on Long Island.”
