Food Insecurity … Even on Campus

Tuesday, November 13, 2018 10:30am - 12:30pm Campus Center Lobby
Past Event

The Health and Wellness Center is spearheading a drive to ensure that all FSC students experiencing food insecurity are taken care of, through the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Cornell Cooperative Extension’s “Eat Smart New York” and Island Harvest food bank will be on campus to raise awareness of the issue, which affects more students than you would imagine. Through this event, FSC pledges to provide onsite pre-screening and application assistance for SNAP benefits, and conduct nutrition education and cooking demonstrations to assist students in eating healthy on a limited budget.
