Northwell Health Helping Prepare FSC Students with Disabilities for Work
January 2, 2018
Thursday, 1/18, 10 a.m. – noon Roosevelt Hall 150/151 (Snow date 1/22)
Northwell Health system will be conducting a seminar
to help prepare students for potential employment with the health-care provider.
An HR specialist from Northwell will present a workshop on resume writing, interviewing and how to navigate the Northwell employment system. Northwell is hoping to hire students with disabilities for both full- and part-time jobs, from all academic disciplines. Malka Edelman, director of the Disability Services Center, has set the criteria for participating in the workshop, which is for students that have completed 60 credits or more. Students are encouraged to bring their resumes.
“This is a great opportunity for our students regardless of their disability of major,” says Edelman, “Northwell Health employs more than 6000 people, and this event will help open the door for employment to our students. This is a win-win for us and Northwell.”
Students planning to attend the workshop must RSVP to malka.edelman@farmingdale.edu.
