April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. To create awareness about sexual assault, FSC is hosting several events, with guest speakers addressing Forensics of Sexual Assault and the Criminal Process; video presentations; and a vigil to support survivors. Listed below are two upcoming events.
4/18 – No More Campaign – Say No More to Sexual Assault.
NO MORE is the first unifying symbol to express universal support for ending domestic violence and sexual assault.
4/20 – The Hunting Ground
This film presents multiple students who allege they were sexually assaulted at their colleges. They say that college administrators either ignored them or required them to navigate a complex academic bureaucracy to have their claims addressed. The film implies that many college officials are more concerned with minimizing rape statistics for their institutions than with the welfare of the students. The film features interviews with college administrators who state they were pressured into suppressing rape cases.
