SUNY Wants Student Advocates for D.C. Trip
February 20, 2017
SUNY is organizing a student trip to Washington, D.C. on March 28 and 29 to advocate for increased federal support for public higher education, and highlight the University’s work to deliver high-quality, affordable opportunities to New Yorkers.
The trip offers the opportunity to network with DC-based SUNY alumni, hear directly from members of Congress, learn how to advocate on Capitol Hill, and meet with Congressional offices to speak about the importance of increased access to key student financial aid programs. SUNY will cover lodging costs, but students are responsible for their own transportation.
Students interested in careers in public policy or higher education are encouraged to apply. Students receiving federal financial aid are also invited.
Applications must be submitted no later than March 1. Print this flyer for details on how to apply: SUNY Students on the Hill 2017. Questions should be directed to federalrelations@suny.edu.
