East End Artist Coming to Memorial Gallery

Copper Ripples, 2016

February 21 – April 10, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Memorial Gallery, Hale Hall

“Rock Paper Scissors” is a survey of East End artist JoAnne Dumas’s mixed media depictions of the many characteristics of water.

In addition, Dumas will discuss and demonstrate her work on Tuesday, March 7 in Gleeson Hall Room 104, from 11 a.m. – noon. A reception for the artist is scheduled for 5 – 7 p.m. in Hale Hall.

The show is curated by gallery director Beth Giacummo who said “Dumas first take photographs of her original imagery and manipulates them by using techniques such as relief, collage, translucent, matte, reflective or metallic substrates, diamond dust, and lighting. Her choice of materials and dimensions for a piece often vary as much as the idiosyncratic waters she finds so intriguing.”
