Legendary FSC Wrestling Coach Named to Hall of Fame

FSC sports legend, Robert Hartman, is being inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on April 29. The event is being held at the Melville Marriott.

Hartman coached the FSC wrestling team and taught phys ed from 1957 – 1978, winning the National Junior College Athletic Association championship in 1972. He was twice voted the NJCAA Coach of the Year, and was elected to the organization’s Hall of Fame in 1979.

Hartman has spent much of his life teaching wrestlers how to win. He started at Columbia University; coached a U.S. Army team in Korea and a U.S. Greco-Roman team in Moscow. He also took a team to Venezuela for the junior Pan-American Games.
