Student life on campus at Farmingdale is not known to be exciting. We have a variety of clubs, yet a majority of students have complaints about the amount of activities available on campus. While many will ponder what is different about our campus, I went straight to the source of one of our very own students.<\/h4>\n

Alejandro Arredando is a full time student at Farmingdale State and also has a busy work schedule. He said that when he does have free time, he does stay on campus and finds it enjoyable when they have events where food trucks are made available and free of charge to students. The problem evolves when these events are not offered at convenient times for all students.<\/h4>\n

A recent poll showed that 75 percent of students are not happy with the amount of activities on campus, and campus life is often reported as “boring” due to the large number of commuter students. It is important to acknowledge that 80 percent of the students that took the poll would like more activities to be offered.<\/h4>\n

For the majority of working students on campus, it is important to incorporate a wider variety of activities. This could mean having activities at anytime throughout the day and having a larger range. Some possible ideas could be to incorporate more intramural sports teams during common hour. Not everybody likes the same things, yet everyone wants a positive campus experience. We need to incorporate more ideas everyone will like so even commuter students feel at home.<\/h4>\n
