Orange Theory: New Fitness Craze<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Orange Theory is a new gym that is popping up everywhere, but what is it all about? The first time I saw an Orange Theory was in California on vacation in 2017. Their popularity is growing, and I decided to check it out for myself last month. <\/span><\/h4>\n

The science behind the craze is all about heart rate. In order to burn the most calories, you must reach your optimal heart rate and keep it there for at least 12 minutes of class. Each heart rate zone has a corresponding color: Resting HR is grey, Base HR is blue, Active HR is green, Optimal Fat Burning HR is orange, and Cardio Maximum HR is red.\u00a0 The goal is to stay in orange and red for the majority of the class.<\/span><\/h4>\n

When I arrived at Orange Theory in Patchogue, I checked in and the instructor took my measurements and fitted me for a heart monitor. Since each person is connected to a heart rate monitor, everyone can see the results of the class on a screen. I felt motivated to perform better because of the competitive aspect. Each class is an hour and is broken up into cardio and weight training. Although it is 60 minutes it doesn\u2019t feel that way. I walked out of Orange Theory feeling accomplished. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Overall, I found the workout to be very motivating and enjoyable, and the instructors were positive and helpful. If you are looking for a way to switch up your workouts, Orange Theory is the place to go.<\/span><\/h4>\n
