NAACP Chapter Overview<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Let’s Recap:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

A few weeks ago we made a Dale News Report on the upcoming NAACP Chapter and we told you about the impact it could have on Farmingdale State College. In order to get this chapter started this semester the positions of Vice President and Treasurer need to be assigned. If you would like to take the place of one of those positions you can email us or send us a message through Instagram to get more information. For now please read through this overview on what the NAACP Chapter will be about and what the program hopes to accomplish.<\/h4>\n

The Mission and Vision of the Organization<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and to ensure the health and well being of all persons. This mission leads into the vision that ensures a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination.<\/h4>\n

The Goals of the Organization<\/strong><\/h4>\n

— To promote diversity, equity, and inclusion<\/h4>\n

— To introduce new courses regarding African-American History<\/h4>\n

— To host fun and engaging events<\/h4>\n

— To educate the campus on current social issues<\/h4>\n

— To fight for our rights!<\/h4>\n

We have an update on the NAACP Chapter: If the positions for Vice President and Treasurer are assigned before the end of the month then the chapter can start in October! The President and The Secretary will be at the Involvement Fair on Tuesday, September 10 at Gleeson Plaza.
