{"id":6588,"date":"2016-09-19T07:08:13","date_gmt":"2016-09-19T11:08:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/?p=6588"},"modified":"2016-09-26T09:34:56","modified_gmt":"2016-09-26T13:34:56","slug":"college-polls-praise-farmingdale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/2016\/09\/19\/college-polls-praise-farmingdale\/","title":{"rendered":"Three College Polls Praise Farmingdale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The verdicts are in, and the 2017 Best Colleges polls by <em>U.S. News &amp; Word Report <\/em>and College Factual give FSC high marks in several key areas.<\/p>\n<p>The news from <em>U.S. News<\/em> is<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6595 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/US-News-300x75.jpg\" alt=\"us-news\" width=\"300\" height=\"75\" \/> particularly satisfying: Among public colleges in the North region, FSC ranks #9, up two spots from 2016.\u00a0 When you include both public and private colleges, Farmingdale ranks #17 &#8211; up dramatically from #32 last year.\u00a0 The college also ranked in the Diversity Index and International Student Population categories.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6606 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/college-factual-logo-300x57.jpg\" alt=\"college-factual-logo\" width=\"300\" height=\"57\" \/><\/p>\n<p>College Factual rated FSC in the Top 5%, Top 10% and Top 15% in various categories a total of 19 times.\u00a0 Bang for the Buck was noted too: In the Best Colleges for the Money category, Farmingdale ranked in the top one-third among institutions in the U.S., Mid Atlantic, and New York State.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman retention was rated &#8220;High,&#8221; as was Ethnic Diversity.\u00a0 On the other end of the spectrum, as other ranking organizations have noted, crime at FSC is &#8216;Low.&#8221;<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6651 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/College-choice-logo-300x66.jpg\" alt=\"college-choice-logo\" width=\"300\" height=\"66\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And, as a bonus, College Choice has listed FSC in its list of &#8220;50 Safest Small Colleges and Universities&#8221; for 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The verdicts are in, and the 2017 Best Colleges polls by U.S. News &amp; Word Report and College Factual give FSC high marks in several key areas.
