English <\/strong>– EGL 101 Composition I: College Writing is the first part of a required sequence in college essay writing.\u00a0 Students learn to view writing as a process that involves generating ideas, formulating and developing a thesis, structuring paragraphs and essays, and revising and editing drafts.\u00a0 The focus is on the development of critical and analytical thinking.\u00a0 Students also learn the correct and ethical use of print and electronic sources.\u00a0 At least one research paper is required.\u00a0 Completing the class with a grade of C or higher is a graduation requirement.
