Senior Darrien Hunt is one of four FSC students who have been honored with SUNY Chancellor Awards. Hunt received a Student Excellence Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion\u2014the only student in all of SUNY so honored. He established the first NAACP chapter in the College\u2019s history. Hunt Vice President of the Student Government Association, and has been part of multiple campus organizations including the Black Student Union, CSTEP, and Epsilon Pi Tau Honor Society. In June 2020, when national conversations about racial justice were ubiquitous after the murder of George Floyd, Darrien planned and led the virtual event, “Student Voices: The Systematic Oppression of Black Lives,” which brought together the campus community for education, discussion, and healing.<\/p>\n
Angelique Roberson, \u00a0Simran Mohan, and David Wan also received Chancellor Awards for Student Excellence.\u00a0Roberson won the coveted Newman Civic Fellowship last year. The prestigious fellowship is a year-long program that identifies and supports community-committed students who have demonstrated an investment in finding solutions for challenges facing their communities. Mohan is a\u00a0RAM program scholar who has participated in a legislative internship in Albany and a Criminal Justice internship.\u00a0Wan is a\u00a0Ram Scholar who received the Institute of Electrical\/Electronic Engineers Scholarship for his excellence in academics and leadership and passion for engineering.<\/p>\n
