{"id":3217,"date":"2016-02-01T07:24:57","date_gmt":"2016-02-01T12:24:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/?p=3217"},"modified":"2016-02-15T08:24:46","modified_gmt":"2016-02-15T13:24:46","slug":"congrats-to-our-2016-cares-award-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/2016\/02\/01\/congrats-to-our-2016-cares-award-winners\/","title":{"rendered":"Congrats to Our 2016 CARES Award Winners!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The winners of this year&#8217;s CARES award were announced at Convocation, and the applause for each was sustained and sincere.\u00a0 The winners are Professor Joseph Betz, Architecture and Construction; Suzanne Cerruto, Registrar&#8217;s Office; and Doug LoPalo, assistant manager, Physical Plant.<\/p>\n<p>CARES awards (Commendation and Recognition for Exceptional Service) are presented by President Keen once a year, for exemplary work on behalf of students, faculty and staff.\u00a0 Candidates are nominated by faculty, staff, and increasing numbers of students.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Betz is chair of the Architecture and Construction Management department at Farmingdale and a registered architect in New York State. His teaching experience and expertise are in the areas of architectural design, theory and history. A Farmingdale alumna, she holds an Associate in Applied Science in Ornamental Horticulture.<\/p>\n<p>A Farmingdale alumnus, LoPalo holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Management, and played on the golf and soccer teams.
