The league will consist of varsity and club teams. The Farmingdale State Esports club, comprised of 115 players, already competes in the ECAC against colleges in the northeast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re excited and eager to participate in the SUNY Esports League, and we can&#8217;t wait to show off everything that we&#8217;ve been practicing over the summer,&#8221; says club president Shane Gordon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">FSC will play the following games:<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"x_WordSection1\">\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Rocket League<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Fortnite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;The SUNY esports league is another great opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and engage their fellow SUNY students in positive, fun competitions during these unique times,&#8221; says campus recreation director Jason Gant. &#8220;Given how well our team performed in the SUNY tournament in the spring, we are confident that we will once again show everyone the meaning of Farmingdale Strong!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"x_WordSection1\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u201cSUNY is proud to partner with Extreme Networks to do something that we have never done: launch a system-wide esports league that can bring together students from all 64 campuses,\u201d says Chancellor Jim Malatras. \u201cAs we navigate the coronavirus era, our students need safe avenues for connecting, building camaraderie with their classmates, and simply enjoying life.
