The essays appear in <i>Encyclopedia of Security and Emergency Management,\u00a0<\/i>and the chapter in <em>The Best Murders Are British: Essays on the International Appeal of English Crime Dramas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Read on for a closer look.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/referenceworkentry\/10.1007\/978-3-319-69891-5_303-1\"><b>Health Security: Securing Borders, Managing COVID-19<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This essay considers COVID-19 a national security concern. It evaluates the initial response and management of the pandemic in an effort to evaluate U.S. national preparedness, and encourage improved response to prevent future pandemic events.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/referenceworkentry\/10.1007\/978-3-319-69891-5_283-1\"><b>Investigations: Cybercrimes<\/b>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Three critical components of cybercrime investigations are explored: the physical (crime scene) investigation, digital (laboratory) investigation, and the role of the cybercrime\/digital forensic investigator. It also considers scholarship in criminological and psychological approaches to understanding cybercrime.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/referenceworkentry\/10.1007\/978-3-319-69891-5_178-1\">Investigations: Firearms<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Examined are the critical components of firearms investigations, including forensic firearms examinations, gunshot residue analysis, and shooting reconstructions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mcfarlandbooks.com\/product\/the-best-murders-are-british\/\"><b>Stumbling Around: The Art of Detection in the British Crime Series\u00a0<i>Endeavour<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The chapter evaluates the analytical approach to investigations in the British crime drama, <i>Endeavour<\/i>,<i>\u00a0<\/i>and demonstrates how these methods correspond to the transformation of policing in post-war Britain. It presents methods of detection; occasions of corruption and external influence on cases; and the overarching international appeal of the <i>Endeavour\u00a0<\/i>series.
