The top team included Ariana Concepcion, Interaction Design; Anthony Grimaldi, Business Management; Damaris Guillermo, Mechanical Engineering Technology; Ian Matlak; Computer Programming\/Information Systems; and Ruben Portillo; Business Analytics.<\/p>\n<p>The Innovation Challenge&#8217;s goal, says Dr. Betty Feng, advisor to the event, is to drive interdisciplinary interaction, collaboration, and innovation among FSC students.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organized by the School of Business, and sponsored by PSEG LI, which put up $1,800 in prize money.<\/p>\n<p><em>*DERs are electricity-producing resources or controllable loads that are connected to a local distribution system, or connected to a host facility within the local distribution system. They can include solar panels, combined heat and power plants, energy storage, small natural gas-fueled generators, electric vehicles, and controllable loads, such as HVAC systems and electric water heaters.
