The price tag: $53 million, which is why FSC needs allies in Albany.<\/p>\n<p>The aforementioned praise was effusive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Senator John Brooks (an FSC alum): &#8220;Farmingdale is one of Long Island&#8217;s best success stories. We have to build on that success.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Assembly Member Kimberly Jean-Pierre: &#8220;Farmingdale State College is a hub for keeping young people on Long Island. We need you on Long Island.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Assembly Member Steve Stern: &#8220;Farmingdale is critically important to the Long Island region.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Senator Kevin Thomas: &#8220;We need to invest in Long Island and keep our young people on Long Island.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>John Durso, president, LI Federation of Labor; AFL-CIO: &#8220;We can all celebrate what this school has meant to Long Island.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>President Nader, who like the others stressed the importance of keeping Long Island&#8217;s young people local, made the case for the building before a full room and four TV news crews.
