{"id":21571,"date":"2019-01-18T12:43:01","date_gmt":"2019-01-18T17:43:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/?p=21571"},"modified":"2019-01-18T12:56:44","modified_gmt":"2019-01-18T17:56:44","slug":"fsc-appoints-new-diversity-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/2019\/01\/18\/fsc-appoints-new-diversity-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"FSC Appoints New Diversity Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: #555555\">Dr. Kevin Jordan, former director of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at FSC, has been named the College&#8217;s new\u00a0Chief Diversity Officer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: #555555\">Dr. Jordan will join the President&#8217;s Cabinet, overseeing the implementation of campus-wide diversity and inclusion initiatives; compliance with state and College policies; promoting the recruitment of diverse applicants; and training staff on affirmative action protocols.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: #555555\">Before joining FSC in 2016, Dr. Jordan was Assistant Dean for Student Development and Campus Life at CUNY LaGuardia Community College, and before that, Dean of Academic Support Services at Dowling College.His background includes management roles and oversight of multiple student support programs, such as Higher Education Opportunity Programs and Federal TRIO Programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: #555555\">Dr. Jordan is an alum of Princeton University, and holds degrees in psychology and African-American studies.
