Chances are your life has been touched by suicide. Eight hundred thousand people attempt it every year. It’s the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S., and 123 Americans die from suicide every day; that amounts to nearly 45,000 deaths annually. Many college students deal with anxiety, depression and stress. Many have considered or attempted suicide.<\/p>\n

If you can relate to any of the above, come to the Campus Center Lobby on World Suicide Prevention Day, Thursday, 9\/6, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Representatives from Campus Mental Health Services will be on hand. You will have the opportunity to talk to mental health experts about suicide, its causes, and prevention. You can get a depression and anxiety check-up, and learn how to get help or talk to someone else who might need help.<\/p>\n

Anyone with a concern should contact Campus Mental Health Services at 631-420-2006, or go to Sinclair Hall Room 160, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n
