It&#8217;s the 10th year of the \u201cShine the Light on Domestic Violence\u201d campaign, coordinated by the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence.<\/p>\n<p>Each year organizations, communities and individuals across the state<strong><span style=\"color: #333399\"> \u201cgo purple\u201d<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; the color of domestic violence awareness &#8211; by lighting buildings, wearing purple and doing creative activities incorporating the color purple. SUNY has been a partner in the campaign, and FSC urges you to participate this month.<\/p>\n<p>Each year one day in October \u2013 usually the third Thursday \u2013 is designated <strong><span style=\"color: #333399\">\u201cWear Purple Day,\u201d<\/span><\/strong> in which all New Yorkers are asked to join the national effort to<br \/>\nraise awareness by wearing purple.
