Find Out Oct. 19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2015\/10\/Dimitry-Schidlovsky-Metaspace-photo-credit-Dimitry-Schidlovsky.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1235\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.farmingdale.edu\/sites\/campus-times\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2015\/10\/Dimitry-Schidlovsky-Metaspace-photo-credit-Dimitry-Schidlovsky.jpeg\" alt=\"Dimitry Schidlovsky - Metaspace photo credit, Dimitry Schidlovsky\" width=\"600\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>METASPACE\/Observation 31&#8230; <\/em>sounds like the theme of a space shuttle mission or the latest sci-fi\u00a0blockbuster.\u00a0 Actually, it&#8217;s a little more down to earth than that: it&#8217;s a new piece of campus art created by acclaimed LI artist Dimitry Schidlovsky.<\/p>\n<p>Some of you know Professor\u00a0Schidlovsky; he is a long-time adjunct professor in the visual communications department, and a nationally known illustrator whose work has appeared on the front cover of <em>The New York Times Science Times <\/em>section.\u00a0 His latest work &#8211; a 7\u2019 by 16\u2019 oil on canvas\u00a0 &#8211; was commissioned with a $10,000 grant by alumna and generous donor Theresa M. Santmann. Ms. Santmann made the donation with the stipulation that it be used to fund campus art .<\/p>\n<p>The painting will be unveiled Monday, October 19 at 11 a.m. in the Campus Center.
