The announcement was made by President Nader in a message to the campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nancy has experience in fundraising, and is perfectly suited to lead our increasing efforts and plans in corporate development, major gifts, capital campaigns and alumni relations,\u201d President Nader said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With our emphasis on external funding, Nancy&#8217;s expertise will be critical to developing new ways to raise Farmingdale&#8217;s endowment, to replace funds not allotted by the state, and to improve our connections to businesses, private foundations, and individuals with philanthropic goals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Connors was most recently Vice President for Institutional Advancement at St. Joseph\u2019s College in Patchogue and Brooklyn. Before her work at St. Joseph&#8217;s &#8211; where she raised $40 million in gifts and grants &#8211; Connors was Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Adelphi University, and responsible for the school&#8217;s first $1 million gift. She is a partner at Brainstorm Creative Group, a fundraising, communications and marketing firm.<\/p>\n<p>Connors will join Farmingdale next month.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nancy Connors has been named FSC&#8217;s new Vice President for Development and Philanthropy.
