Scholar-Athletes Win SUNY Chancellor’s Award

Samuele Riva ’16 and Tatiana Rosamilia’17 are winners of the 2016 Chancellor’s Scholar-Athlete Award. The Chancellor’s Award honors students who have best demonstrated and been recognized for their integration of academic excellence with other aspects of their lives, which may include leadership, campus involvement, athletics, career achievement, community service or creative and performing arts.
Riva is this spring’s valedictorian, a sport management major, and the first student from Italy to graduate from FSC (see profile in SUNY Blog). He did it in just three years, with a near-perfect GPA. Among his achievements:
- 5-of-5 semesters on the President’s List
- President of the Golden Key Honor Society
- President of Sigma Beta Delta
- Second Team All-Skyline, men’s soccer (2015)
- Two years on the golf team
- Accepted to law school
Rosamilia is studying liberal arts & science, and has been a member of the women’s tennis team for the last three years. She holds many records, including:
- #2 singles/#1 doubles player
- First Team All-Skyline 2015
- Helped Rams to 3 straight titles
- Posted a 10-3 record at #2 singles and a 7-7 doubles mark.
- Currently #1 All-Time for Best Singles Record (37-5)
- #4 All-Time for career wins (37)
- Record for most wins in a season her freshman year (14)
