Well-deserved Distinguished Service Awards

Dr. Lloyd Makarowitz and President Keen

Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance George LaRosa and physics department chair Lloyd Makarowitz were honored recently with FSC’s coveted Distinguished Service Award.

Presented by President Keen at the April 8 Governance meeting, Senior VP LaRosa was cited for 43 years of SUNY service, and 39 years in various administrative roles at Farmingdale.  He received his appointment as vice president in 1985.

Dr. Makarowitz joined the faculty in 1979, and was promoted to full professor in 1989.  He is currently serving his 12th three-year term as department chair.
