New Life at Residence Life

Edward E. Cruz, a long-time residence-life professional, has been named Director of Residence Life.

“I truly hope to write a new and refreshing chapter for Residence Life at FSC,” says Cruz. “Our main goal is to establish a culture of collaboration and customer service for our students and campus partners. My hope is for students to feel proud of our residence halls and for being a part of our community. ”

Cruz became enamored with dormitory life while an undergraduate student at St. Lawrence University, where he served three years as an RA. At SUNY Potsdam he took on a graduate assistantship as Graduate Hall Director. Staying in the field, his next stop was Colgate University, then SUNY College at Old Westbury, and SUNY Oswego, before coming to FSC.

He holds a BA in Performance and Communication Arts and an M.Ed in Counseling and Development from St. Lawrence University, where he was a first-generation student.
