“Defining Moments” Documents the Civil Rights Movement in One LI Town

A local history of the struggle for civil rights in the 1960s is the subject of the documentary, Defining Moments: The Civil Rights Movement in North Hempstead.

The event is sponsored by FSC’s Social Science Research Institute.

“It’s every day of the year we should learn something about black history,” said Dr. Miriam Deitsch, director of the Social Science Research Institute. “We’re extending Black History Month into a second month.”
