Chancellor’s Awards for Faculty Excellence
Recipients of these awards embody SUNY’s highest standards, to inspire and serve as role models for the academic community. The awards provide SUNY-wide recognition in five categories: Faculty Service, Teaching, Librarianship, Scholarship, and Creative Activities. Criteria for this year’s awards have not yet been published, so reference SUNY criteria from the previous cycle.
Nominees must be tenured faculty members, or non-tenured track faculty (not preceded by Visiting) who have served a minimum of eight years at FSC.
Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching
This award is an expansion of the Chancellor’s Award program, to recognize excellence in teaching among adjuncts at the graduate, undergraduate, and professional levels. The primary criterion is skill in teaching.
Adjunct faculty nominated for this award must submit student evaluations in the form of student questionnaires or surveys, administered and compiled by persons other than the nominee.
Distinguished Faculty Ranks
Faculty members holding the rank of full librarian or full professor are eligible. Faculty selected under this program represent SUNY’s pride and gratitude for consummate professionalism, groundbreaking scholarship, exceptional instruction, and breadth and significance of service contributions. Distinguished Faculty Ranks categories are: Distinguished Service, Distinguished Teaching, and Distinguished Librarian. See SUNY criteria.
