Joe Egan ’70, Former Alumni Association Head, Leaves a Distinguished Legacy

Joe Egan ’70, member of the Farmingdale College Foundation board and former president of the Alumni Association, has passed away.
Egan was an ardent booster of the College, having served 10 years on the Alumni Association Board. At the 2017 Alumni Awards Dinner, he was recognized as Outstanding Alumnus.
Egan was a leader in the food industry, working with General Foods, Boars Head, and Otto Roth and Company. In 2000, he formed the Egan Consulting Company, Inc. Over the past 20 years, Egan’s partners – sister Mary and wife Susan – and sons developed a sophisticated computer product line for the perishable specialty food industry. In 2017, his company engaged in a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services, utilizing their infrastructure to provide internet security.
Egan was among the most generous and loyal supporters of FSC. The Egan family has a unique legacy with the College, with five of his siblings also having attended Farmingdale. His sister, Regina Vazquez, is an alumna and Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement and Stewardship at FSC.
Egan’s contributions to his alma mater will always be remembered.
