Online Dental Hygiene BS Recognized for Value, Excellence

The online Dental Hygiene degree has earned the #3 spot in a national ranking of the Most Affordable Online Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene, from Online Schools Report.

The Report says of the program: “Farmingdale State College provides an online dental hygiene degree that’s designed either for those already with some dental hygiene experience or an associate-level degree. It offers several foundational courses, as well as a capstone practicum course. Here, students will be able to pursue a specific area of emphasis through an internship period: perfect for honing the skills they just learned through the program.”

“It is such an honor for our online BSDH degree-completion program to receive this accolade,” says Professor Luisa Dattoma, Academic Advisement Coordinator, online BSDH Degree Completion Program. On behalf of the Department of Dental Hygiene, we are especially proud of the program’s applied-learning practicum, as it offers great experiences in dental hygiene education, public health, sales, corporate, hospital administration, research, practice management, and marketing.”

The online BSDH Degree Completion Program accepts students who have earned a two-year AAS or AS degree from an accredited dental hygiene program. Transfer students must be licensed, registered dental hygienists practicing in private dental settings, and have transferred to FSC to complete a BS degree in Dental Hygiene. The program provides an applied-learning opportunity in the capstone 40-hour practicum course required for graduation.
