EUREKA! Eureka? Eureka… Concept, Design, and Ambiguities by Kelley Bell is a survey of the artist’s work from the past 20 years. Bell combines folklore flavor and vintage wit to create a colorful conundrum. At first glance, Bell’s work is a kaleidoscope of color that presents the viewer with pleasing designs that are enjoyable to engage with and comfortable to observe.
However, those paying attention will soon realize that the visual adventure of Bell’s designs is only the beginning. Beyond her whimsical and serendipitous designs lie a social and sometimes political subtext. In this dichotomy, viewers are suddenly intersecting with community. Bell’s subtle way of leading the viewer down a path of discovery and awakening, is evident in her art and designs.
Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is free, and the gallery is accessible to persons with mobility impairments.
