Dan Daugherty Named Chief of University Police

Dan Daugherty, a 23-year veteran of policing at FSC, has been promoted to Chief of University Police.
“It is truly an honor to lead the professional men and women of the University Police Department at Farmingdale State College,” Chief Daugherty says. “Their dedication and incredible work ethic make it a joy to come to work every day.”
Chief Daugherty had been Interim Chief for the last 15 months. He is moving quickly to expand resources, streamline operations, and improve communications on campus. He has served the campus as officer, investigator, and assistant chief.
“Chief Daugherty earned the respect and support of the campus through his good work and approachability. We are fortunate to have him lead an outstanding group of officers,” says President Nader.
A 2004 graduate of Stony Brook University, Chief Daugherty holds several awards and commendations for his work at Farmingdale and across the SUNY system. He is a dedicated professional who understands the unique environment of a college campus, tackling the challenge of providing a safe and secure environment for teaching and learning in the 21st Century.
