Is There a Fulbright Scholarship in Their Future?

Four FSC students have submitted applications for U.S. Government Fulbright Study Research Scholarships for 2020-2021.

Three of the students – Brandon Berke ’20, Sofia Cuenca ’20, and Kamryn Hernandez ’20 – are RAM Program scholars. The fourth – Nicholas Gonzalez ’20 – has participated in many RAM activities.

Says Dr. Beverly Kahn, FSC Fulbright Program Advisor and founder of the RAM Program: “I believe that because these FSC applicants have engaged in serious mentored research on or off campus during their undergraduate years, their applications will be especially distinctive and competitive.”

Below are each student’s major, the country in which they would do their research, the institution at which they would work, and the title of their project.

Name Major Country Affiliation Project Title
Brandon Berke Computer Programming Information Systems Canada Brock University Master’s Degree in Computer Science in Canada
Sofia Cuenca Computer Programming Information Systems Bulgaria American University Research and Study Focused on Human Computer Interaction in Bulgaria

The competition is a two-step process.  Semi-finalists will be announced in January 2020, and winners of the awards will be notified by the end of spring semester.
