Domestic Violence Awareness Walk
VIBS Family Violence & Rape Crisis Center is sponsoring its annual Walk the Walk 3K event, to bring attention to the crises of domestic violence and partner abuse. The VIBS supports victims of violence through counseling, advocacy, and legal programs, and works to prevent violence through education and community outreach. Its goal is to raise awareness of the need for justice and compassion for all survivors.
The event is coordinated by Jasmine Torres ’15, an FSC alumna.
“I want to give FSC students and staff the chance to get involved to help support this awesome organization and important event,” Torres says. “October is National Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, and we want to raise awareness and funds to support programs and services at VIBS.”
You must register for the event: adults $20, children and students 10 and older $15, and children under 10 free.
Walk the Walk begins with a breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Music and family activities are scheduled.
