Hack-A-Thon for Student-Veterans

Saturday, September 21, 2019 8:30am - 5:00pm United Way of LI, Deer Park
Past Event

Hack-a-Thon is an event just for student-veterans. A Hack-a-Thon is where students build products that can be used in various industries. At this event, student-veterans will work in teams to design and build rough prototypes of financial products and solutions that will enhance the financial lives of deployed service members, active military families, or veterans transitioning to civilian life.

The Hack-a-Thon is free, and breakfast and lunch will be served.

Winning team members will share a $1,000 cash prize, and be guaranteed an interview with sponsor Citi Ventures, for a paid internship for summer 2020. Participants awarded interviews will be provided with access to Citi’s interview prep course and veteran group, for coaching and mentoring in all aspects of the banking/finance field. Second place team members will share a $500 prize. All others will receive a small stipend for participating.

Bring a laptop and charger. Free Wi-Fi is available and support materials will be provided. If you don’t have a laptop, a limited number will be available, but you must reserve one in advance. Contact Jacqui; 631-940-3785.

To register visit the Hack-a-Thon website.
