Dorothy Hughes Promoted to Assistant VP for Administration

Dorothy Hughes, long-time member of the Administration and Finance office, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President for Administration. She previously held the position of Director of Administrative Services and Ancillary Operations.
Hughes began her career at FSC in 2005, at the Small Business Development Center, where she held positions including Office Manager, Assistant to the Director, and Business Advisor. In 2011 she joined the Administration and Finance Office as Use of Facilities Coordinator, and then advanced to Internal Control Officer and Acting Budget Director.
Says Gregory O’Connor, Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer, of Hughes’ promotion: “I am sure this comes as little surprise to the many who have worked with Dorothy, and who have had the opportunity to see how talented she is and how seriously she takes her commitment to her work here at Farmingdale. This has indeed been the case for me since I started two years ago, as Dorothy quickly proved herself to be an effective manger, a supportive and insightful colleague, and a trusted advisor for the many departments across our diverse division.”
In 2016 Hughes was honored by Long Island Business News as one of L.I.’s Top 40 Under 40. She holds a BA and MBA from Dowling College.
